Ramadan to us is like Yusuf alaihis salam was to Yaqoob alaihis salam. He had 12 sons, but Yusuf was his favourite. In the same way, we have 12 other months, but Ramadan is our favourite. I don't know about you, but I have this almost uncanny feeling - I can almost smell and sense Ramadan today after Fajr! Ramadan is in the air! It is just like Yaqoob alaihis salam said: "And their father said: I can smell Yusuf." [Surah Yusuf: Verse 94] It is reported in Tafsir Tabari that the perfume of Yusuf alaihis salam asked for permission from Allah to reach Yaqoob alaihis salam before the messenger reached him and so Allah allowed that to happen. O Allah, bring upon us Ramadan!
