Back during our Prophet's time, kids and babies are eating dates as their meals and snacks. Sadly, our modern families now pay very little attention to the benefits of dates, and usually eat them only during the fasting month. Dates are also among the fruits of Paradise, as noted in the hadith: "Ajwah is from Paradise and contains an antidote against poison." (Reported by at-Tirmidhi) Let's change our mindset, and 'activate' those dates in our kitchen. After all, our modern lifestyle is so full of "hidden" poisons aka pollutants e.g. poisonous gases in the air, new strains of viruses and bacteria, harmful chemicals / toxins in food. DELICIOUS BREAKFAST DRINK Make a nutritious breakfast drink using almond milk, dates, and a dash of cinnamon powder. Blend it. WHOLESOME BABY FOOD For moms who are starting their kids on solids, make a date puree. Then add some breast milk to the puree. (Make more, and store the excess in the right portions in the freezer.) HEALTHY SWEETENER For the best sweeteners to drinks and dishes, use the pureed dates VS sugar. Dates are packed with vitamins and minerals, and are definitely more nutritious than white sugar.
