Prevention is better than cure. One of the ways of preventing evil eye is to avoid showing off in front of the people. If you have been blessed with something, then thank Allah for His blessing upon you, but do not proudly display it because someone may have envy in their heart for what you have, as a result of their envy they may inflict you with evil eye. We should also seek refuge in Allah from the evil eye using the authentic duas mentioned in the sunnah of the prophet alayhis salam - such as: أَعُوذُ بِكَلِماتِ اللهِ التَّامَّةْ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطانٍ وهَامَّةْ وكُلِّ عَيْنٍ لامَّةْ (A’ūdhu bi kalimātillāhi’tāmmha, min kulli shayṭanin wa hāmmah wa kulli ‘aynin lāmmah) I seek refuge in the complete words of Allāh from every devil, every creature and every evil eye. Having said this, we shouldn't become overly worried about evil eye such that it is always on our minds. Be moderate, take your precautions and then place your full trust in Allah subhanahu-wa ta'ala. Nothing will harm you except what He has already decreed and nothing will benefit you except by His Will. So tie your camel and then rely upon Him alone.
