The Prophet (saw) said, "The most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or remove one of his troubles." [Al-Tabarani] You're given 365 days a year every year. Out of all those days, how many times did you make another Muslim happy? I mean, you genuinely did it for Allah and not for any other reason. You didn't do because he or she is a friend or relative or a colleague and you're expected to do it. Rather, you did ONLY to please Allah and were determined to do it in any way possible. Is making someone happy really that important?! Oh, yes it is. Just look how much you long to be happy and see your children happy. It's such a powerful feeling one sincere act of instilling happiness could get you into Jannah. Instilling this emotion is the MOST beloved deed to Allah. Think of ways to make Muslims happy. Whether it's someone you know, someone you've just met, a Muslim overseas in Syria or Africa, a person on the road, or even a person at work...do something very thoughtful and genuine. After you're done, don't look for praise or recognition, just raise your hand to the Heaven and say, "Ya Rabb, accept it and make me happy too!" Then do again and again..
