Sorry It is me Again .....Please be mindful...!!!! Today the topic is very important, wearing a headscarf, chanting Arabic, with Masha’Allah and Subhan’Allah, and not being mindful of the place you walk by, is terrible. This afternoon, me and my family were at the shops, I went there to buy a school bag for my daughter, as we were looking through, two women in complete hijab walked by, there was this old lady who was shopping, she was I think in her 70’s, she stood there by looking at something, there were many people around, just then these two ladies, grabbed a trolley from the entrance and were walking, they were so busy in their conversation that, they just banged into this old lady. I was witness to this, I just looked at that lady and she was in immense pain, and when I saw these two despotic ladies, they were shouting at her for being their way..With the broken English. How terrible is that!, the old lady murmured something, but they were too loud, My daughter ran up to her, picked up her packets, and gave it to her. I went running at the back of these ladies, and asked them to apologies to the old women, they knew not a word I said, they did not know English; they even shouted back at me and walked away. The entire crowed, was looking in disgust, some even blamed Muslims to be ill mannered, Believe me, I felt so sick about it. I went up to the lady and apologized for the behaviour of those ladies. I offered her to sit down and got her a bottle of water. She was so fragile, Subhan’Allah...I felt so bad. My temper was at its peak, my husband asked me to calm down, and offered all the help to that lady. I thanked Allah she was not hurt too badly. I don’t understand what kind of behaviour is this? By wearing the hijab you are not only representing Islam but the entire Muslim community. Is that what Islam teaches? How terrible is this? No apology whatsoever? How horrible is this? Islam has already been, misquoted everywhere, this is another addition “Ill mannered”, why not? If I was in their place, I would think the same! Not to forget, two small girls, whose age might be 6 or 7 walked with those ladies, what kind of example have you been to these girls? What did they learn? It is so embarrassing, for us to face such situations, though this could happen with anyone, Muslims are always highlighted in such cases. Knowing the situations around you, still you pay no heed? Terrible!! Manners is a very important part of Islam, Our Prophet PBUH was so well mannered that, even Allah praised him in the Quran for it. STOP! THINK! And be mindful of what you do, where are your ethics? IF YOU HAVE NOT LEARNED TO BE KIND AND THOUGHTFUL OF OTHERS, THEN YOU HAVE NOT LEARNT ANYTHING FROM ISLAM. The prophet PBUH never gave a angry look at anyone. What do you learn from him? Just saying “follow the sunnah” is not enough obeying is essential. By your looks, you feel so religious, but your inner self is left untreated. Even while driving, this same issues happen, Muslims are always in a hurry, beeping all the time, at old people. What has happened? Why have we lost patience? My suggestion to such people, GO BACK TO BASICS!! I am not being judgemental about those ladies, but it was not a right thing to do.They could have apologised and done the needful, but arrogance I don’t know for what, strikes such people!!! I am sorry, if I got you thinking!! -Sharmeen Syeeda —
