Zohaib Ahmed, 8, sets A-level Maths record "A boy from Hampshire is thought be the youngest person to pass maths A-level with an A grade. Zohaib Ahmed from Chandler's Ford sat the A-level exam when he was eight. He was nine when the result came through. He beat the record held by Hong Kong prodigy March Boedihardjo who was nine years and three months old when he sat exams to get an A in maths in 2007. Zohaib's 11-year-old brother Wajih, scored 96% in his further maths A-level examination." Watch and learn how to raise prodigies. If you don't have a son or daughter, you can still motivate and inspire youngsters in your family and community. This is the new generation of Muslim parents and youngsters which we truly need. A generation of enlightened Muslims who will contribute to Britain, to the Ummah and to the world. Of course, not all children will achieve the same as these two boys and neither can they be expected to, but the lesson to take is the attitude they have- to be the best. It is our duty as Muslims to serve Science, progress and humanity. Quran and Hadiths highlight science, knowledge (ilm), excellence (ihsan) and achievement as cardinal values of Islam. The more successful you are in pursuing knowledge and excellence in your career and in raising your children, the better Muslim you are. Islam is not just about prayers, fasting and hajj. Islam is a way of life. A Muslim who is content with an average or mediocre life, without at least trying to accomplish a distinctive career is not following Islam fully. A Muslim should aim to be an overachiever, an excellent worker, a persistent pursuer of knowledge and Science, a brilliant student, an exemplary parent, a wonderful son/daughter, a force of good for the whole community and a positive contributor to all of humanity. We all have to aspire to reach this level of Islam. It is our duty to be the best in everything we do. It is the principle of Ihsan (excellence) in Islam. The prophet PBUH Said: “The believer is like rain, wherever he goes is goodness.”
