We need to stop giving our children external rewards (ex. money) for acts of worship like fasting or praying. Social psychology finds that while it initially increases the behavior, it *decreases* internal or intrinsic motivation and even enjoyment in doing the behavior. This is because the motivation is only external! As soon as the external reward ceases, so does the behavior. Teach your children instead to seek the currency of Allah's pleasure and jennah, rather than money.
